More crochet to come!

I made this baby blanket using three strands of sport weight yarn in three different colors for the main body of it. It's all half double crochet except for the last row of the edging which is reverse single crochet.

The doll model was wrapped up in the blanket and wore the hat for months while residing in my bed. She desperately needs a new outfit and so do my other dolls. More crocheting for me to do.

Baby hats made to use up small balls of yarn. The two light pink ones with white were given away along with other baby items when I had a free stuff giveaway in my driveway.

Dusting cloths ordered by my #1 customer for her firstborn daughter. I had made the flower appliques months ago and this was my first time using them for anything. I sewed them on without the sewing yarn showing on the other side by weaving it in between stitches to make them invisible.

This is a rug that I made for my house to use up scrap yarn. It's on the porch in front of the storm door. It's all hdc except for the double crochet shell edging and I used a strand of pink throughout to tie the colors together. I really like how it turned out, interesting to look at.

I shall be making more rugs for my house in months to come.

Crochet whirlwind

Right now I'm in a crochet whirlwind. I'm getting ready to have a yard sale featuring crocheted items that I'm going to offer for low prices in order to keep clutter from accumulating. Also making things for an upcoming craft & bake sale which will also take place in my yard possibly in late June.

I have made so many things since I last posted pics, it's hard to keep up with taking pics seeing as how I continue to churn out a prolific number of items. I usually crochet 6 days a week.

Last night I made many white cotton rounds that are to be used like cotton balls only washable and reusable. They look like mini coasters.

I have two crochet gift item orders that I'm working on for repeat crochet customers. One order is a Red Heart Buff baby blanket and yellow booties, the other order is for a large RH buff blanket and yellow dish liquid detergent dress.

These baby sets were made by request in December, but the person who ordered them never claimed them so I'm going to offer them for sale:

I used I Love This Yarn! brand yarn for the first time to make the blankets. It was SO SOFT I just about lost my mind working with that yarn, I couldn't get over it.

I'll let potential customers who I don't know well or at all come to my sale know that I'm willing to take orders, but I'll need a deposit before I begin working on their order. I pretty much enjoy just working on what I feel like working on at the time. I alternate between projects.

I worked on decluttering my home for 8 weeks in a row as part of the process to live more simply with fewer things that I don't really need, use, or care about. I still have what I think is a lot of stuff (despite giving quite a bit of it away) which is why I'm going to hold the yard sale. I donated many crocheted items to the local group foster home again in February, I think it was.

Last year my long-term charitable project was scarves, this year it's hats. I already have quite a few completely made and almost done.

The first crocheted item that I made for my beau, an eyeglass case modeled by my eyeglasses.

The second functional gift item for him, a lip balm cozy with complimentary ChapStick:

An acrylic dusting cloth made for my best friend by request. I just added lime green rows to a RH Shocking Pink ripple stitch square that I'd made a long time ago.

Alright, I've got to leap back into my crochet whirlwind. Ciao!

Back in October

Below you can view a variety of things I donated to a group foster home facility last month. Some scarves that I made, a red & white bag, Red Heart Cherry Chip dishcloths, and white stuffed pumpkins made last year.

Donated to a local nursing home: White shawl, two blankets, three hats, white doily set, an orange doily, two walker totes. Three stuffed animals which will be used as BINGO prizes.

A newborn baby set donated via Freecycle. I made the blanket in '07, I believe.

Right now I have two blankets going. One is a baby blanket for a set and the other will be a full size blanket.

Crocheted baby sets

I donated all of these sets and another which resulted in an order for two more sets
via Freecycle earlier in the month.

Still crocheting

Below are blankets that I made and am donating via Freecycle. Both are double-stranded. The blue, white, and peach blanket is made with sport weight yarn and it measures 25" x 25." The Soft Yellow (Caron) & Grey is a combination of worsted and sport weight yarns and it measures 33" x 32 1/2."

A blanket made with very soft acrylic yarn, Red Heart Kids Beach Ombre.

A set of felted wool potholders ordered by my #1 customer.

My first filet crochet project. It's a shamrock doily that my best friend ordered for my #1 customer.

My current crochet jag is hats which I will donate along with the many scarves I've already made.

Official crochet

This is my second official round doily made with Peaches & Creme cotton yarn.

A cotton hand towel that I made to be used in the bathroom in lieu of paper towels. The stitch pattern is called "Thistle Stitch."

I knit this dishcloth/washcloth on my Sensations #10 knitting needles. Probably took longer than the hand towel to make because the stitches are so much shorter. I was glad to end it.

Here's a bright baby/toddler blanket that I must've crocheted months ago now, who knows? The crochet train keeps chugging right along at my house! I made this blanket just because I wanted to put those bright colors together.

I've still been crocheting scarves in between projects. Right now I'm working on a multi-colored one using scraps.

I have two official crochet orders that I will be working on in the near future. More money for yarn, hooray!

My first booties

I made these booties for my great niece last month, I believe. My first pair. Just like making slippers. An easy pattern.
The last thing I made was a scarf. I'm going to start another scarf today. A medium pink color.
Going to start a hooded baby blanket in lavender acrylic yarn as a larger project. The stitch pattern is ripple stitch as I know it to be called. Produces a highly textured fabric. It's going to look great!
